AW relieves fatigue.
We usually start with a meeting, a conference call, some emails, with the aim to show-up requirements and expecations; thereafter, in the short time, we produce a detailed and quoted proposal, respecting budget constraints and service levels agreed upon. Well, it is not rocket science, so far, but even before the formal engagement - depending on the specific circumstance - we may produce some drafts & samples that can be helpful in taking the final decision.
In the 2010 he left RCS Digital, where he was assigned the role of Operations Manager for Corriere.it, the online version of Corriere della Sera.
In fact, the true story began in the second half of the nineties, when he was the pathfinder for the first RCS print-to-web project,
moving the text core of Corriere della Sera and Gazzetta dello Sport into a Search Engine powered by WAIS,
a company settled in the San Francisco Bay Area.
During that time spent in California he learned the "hello world" of the World Wide Web structure and languages thus laying the background for the first instance of corriere.it and gazzetta.it online (1995).
Later on, he encouraged and technically supported a partnership between Corriere della Sera and Fondazione Umberto Veronesi that led to the Sportello Cancro initiative: a unique combination of database and search engine, recording all the hospitalization events occurred in Italy by means of Public Health and referable to any Cancer Diagnosis Related Group (DRG).
Before the Internet era, he worked as Data & Database Administrator in RCS Editori (the RCS Group Holding Company) and was responsible for the Customer Information Control System (CICS) in Novartis, a chemical-pharma company, formerly named Ciba Geigy.
In the early years he was part of the Transaction Monitor Team in Pirelli as a Mainframe System Programmer and began to focus on the Relational Databases (DB2) and Data Languages (SQL).
He left Accenture in the 2006 being a Senior Manager responsible for the Project Management Training and the whole Accenture Delivery Methods.
In Accenture he was the focal point in charge to deliver and support the Business Integration Methodology (BIM)
all through the Accenture projects in Italy and Greece; such a methodology enforced behaviour and documentation for all the processes, strategies,
and software selection criteria related to a project.
Before to reach Accenture, he was member of the e-Commerce Project Board in Andersen Consulting having in charge the in-house training for the e-Business Model Methodologies and holding classes at the Politecnico and Università Cattolica in Milan.
In Andersen Foundation he was assigned for the Account Training Services and designed the workshops and courses of the entire Project Management Programme Line holding classes on Information Systems Strategic Planning at La Sapienza in Rome and many other italian campus in Verona, Parma, Napoli, Bari, Palermo, Messina and Catania.
At an earlier stage, during the eighties, he was in the team for the support & training on the Computer Aided Software Engineering Area in Pirelli Informatica.
In the seventies he began his professional career in Messaggerie Italiane, firstly as Application Analyst and then as a Project Leader.
